Why we picked this experience

Tested by Benoit at Wandr
This cooking class was honestly the highlight of my time in Berat. Ardit and his mum were so welcoming and the whole experience felt like being invited into a family kitchen (except with way better views!). Picking ingredients from the farm was such a nice touch, and then eating everything outside with a little local wine/rakia was perfect. I just expected “a class” but got a full cultural experience instead and I know 100% you'll feel the same!

Full description
Step into the calm Albanian countryside and spend a delicious morning in Roshnik, where cooking feels less like a lesson and more like being welcomed into a family kitchen.
Your experience begins at 11:00 AM, meeting your local host and cook, Ardit, and his mother. After a warm introduction (and a quick look at what’s fresh today), you’ll head to the outdoor kitchen and roll up your sleeves. With hands-on guidance at every step, you’ll learn how to prepare traditional dishes such as byrek (homemade pie), fërgesë (pepper-and-cheese stew), or roshnicë (a local meat-based specialty), plus plenty of practical tips you can actually use again at home!
Once your dishes are on their way, you’ll take a short walk to the organic farm to pick seasonal vegetables and fruits. It’s one of those simple moments that makes everything click: the ingredients aren’t “farm-to-table” as a slogan, they’re literally coming from the garden to your pan.
Finally, you’ll gather outside to enjoy the meal you helped create, surrounded by the peaceful setting of Roshnik. If you’d like, you can also spend some time exploring the village after your meal for a slower, more immersive finish.

About your host

Ardit
Hi! I’m Ardit, your “head chef assistant” for the day (my mum is the real boss). Together, we’ll show you how we cook the dishes we grew up with, using fresh ingredients from our farm and the kind of simple tricks you won’t find in recipe books.
I love hosting because people arrive as guests… and leave like cousins who now have strong opinions about the correct way to fold byrek. If you’re lucky, my mum might even say “very good” at the end, which, in her language, is basically a Michelin star!

Best restaurant in Albania! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ we did the cooking class and it was so much fun, the host and staff were super friendly and kind. The restaurant is owned by a local and his family ran the cooking course with him. Food was great and so was the wine, but dont eat much in the morning because you wont be hungry when you leave. We will 100% return!!
Ignas
