Krujë is one of Albania’s most important historic towns: a hilltop castle complex tied to Skanderbeg (Albania’s national hero), plus a compact Ottoman-era bazaar that’s great for a few hours of wandering
Insider Tips
Highlights include the Krujë Castle (housing the Skanderbeg Museum), the Ethnographic Museum and the Old Bazaar (while atmospheric, the bazaar is not a bustling locals’ market anymore and it's mostly tourist trade (souvenirs, rugs, old uniforms, etc.)
Parking near the bazaar and castle is a nightmare. The streets are incredibly narrow and steep. Use the paid parking lots at the top of the hill near the Old Bazaar

Don’t be surprised to see a statue of George W. Bush in the center of town; he visited in 2007 and is still celebrated there as a symbol of Albania’s international recognition.
