The Llogara Pass (Qafa e Llogarasë) is a spectacular 1,027-meter-high mountain divide where the Ceraunian Mountains meet the Ionian Sea, marking the official transition from the Adriatic coast to the Albanian Riviera. It is legendary for its hairpin turns and panoramic viewpoints
Insider Tips
As of late 2024/early 2025, the Llogara Tunnel is fully operational. It cuts the journey from Vlorë to Palasë from 45 minutes of winding roads down to about 5-7 minutes. If you want the views, do not take the tunnel. Follow the signs for "Llogara National Park" to stay on the old road. Most heavy traffic now uses the tunnel, making the actual Pass much quieter and more enjoyable to drive.
The panoramic viewpoint is located at the very peak. It’s the spot where the mountainside drops nearly vertically into the sea. On a clear day, you can see the Greek island of Corfu and the Italian coastline across the Strait of Otranto
