This section of the Blue Trail between Monterosso al Mare and Vernazza is one of the most iconic sections of the network, offering stunning views of the Ligurian Sea, terraced vineyards, and the colorful buildings of the villages
Insider Tips
During summer period (March to October), access requires the purchase of the Cinque Terre pass (7.5€). It is valid for one day (although you can buy a 2-day pass) and for all sections of the trail. The pass can be bought at the beginning of every section or at all railway stations of the Cinque Terre’s villages
This section is 3.7km long and takes between 1h30 and 2 hours to complete. The initial 200m ascent from Monterosso via a few hundred stairs is the most challenging part and requires decent fitness but the trail then levels out and descends toward Vernazza
