The parish church of San Lorenzo was built in the early 1100s at the behest of the Genoese. Born Romanesque to a design by the Antelami masters, with columns and pillars built in local black stone, in 1340 it was devastated by a fire and restored in the transept, in the apse and in the façade in the then dominant Gothic style.
