Experience the Dalmatian idea of “pomalo” — taking it easy, going with the flow, and enjoying life at a slower pace — on a guided sea kayaking tour from Cavtat.
Meet your guide at Beach Blato, and start with a safety briefing and simple kayaking instructions, making the tour accessible even if you are not an experienced paddler. Once everyone feels comfortable, set off across the calm blue water and begin exploring Cavtat from a completely different point of view.
Paddle along the coastline and take in views of Cavtat’s old town, pine-covered shores, rocky coves, and nearby islands. Your guide will keep the pace relaxed and friendly, sharing local knowledge, stories, and tips about the area as you glide across the Adriatic Sea.
The experience is available in 2 daily options:
The morning tour is the longer option and includes a stop of around 1 hour for swimming near Supetar Island. Leave your bags and phones safely stored in waterproof containers, jump into the sea, swim from the rocks, and enjoy a peaceful break surrounded by clear water and island scenery before paddling back to the starting point.
The sunset tour is a shorter option designed around the magic of golden hour. Paddle out as the light softens, then stop in front of the well-known Little Star beach bar area and wait for the moment when the sun reaches the water. It is a calm, scenic, and memorable way to end the day in Cavtat.
With professional equipment, a certified local guide, and a small-group setup, this tour offers a safe, personal, and relaxed way to enjoy the natural beauty of Cavtat.

I’m Mario, your local guide for this kayaking adventure in Cavtat. I know this coastline by heart, from the quiet coves to the best places to pause, swim, and look back at the town from the sea.
My style is relaxed, safe, and personal, very 'pomalo', as we say in Dalmatia. I’ll make sure you feel comfortable on the water, and never feel rushed. I keep groups small on purpose to create a warm, friendly and family atmosphere. I also like sharing local stories along the way, because paddling is better when you know what you’re looking at!

The sunset tour is a must do in Cavtat! Mario was so helpful and friendly, the view was absolutely beautiful. We also saw a dolphin while we were watching the sunset, which made our experience unforgettable. I am very grateful for this experience. Thank you Mario, love from Hungary!❤️🤍💚

Highly recommended experience. Mario is a kind and friendly guide. Lovely to see beautiful Cavtat from the water and to hear about the town from a local.

What a lovely trip out, Mario greeted us at the start of the day. I was there with my wife and teenage children and there was another couple who joined the group so a total of 6. Mario will only take a maximum of 8 people at a time and this gave me confidence in knowing that he would be able to assist any of us in the event of us needing help. We received thorough instructions on how to use the equipment and each kayak had waterproof barrels to keep clothes and personal electronics, keys etc. dry and safe. Our group consisted of mixed abilities, and the pace reflected this with plenty of time to rest and enjoy stories from Mario, who is a true Cavtaćanin! with a genuine love for his region of Croatia. The trip lasted around 3 hours with an island stop in the middle for rest, refreshment, and swimming. On a side note my daughter is deaf and my wife translates for her, Mario understood this completely and made sure any instructions were given with plenty of time for my wife to communicate or he made sure my daughter could see him visually demonstrating the information. This approach made my daughters day all the more enjoyable as often she can feel overlooked. Thanks for taking the time with her. Kevin

My teenage daughter and I went on a morning kayak tour with Mario, yesterday for the last day of our fabulous holiday in Cavtat. Kayaking on the stunningly clear waters was definitely a zen experience and was a great way to finish the holiday. Unlike the tours in Dubrovnik of 20 + people, our group was very small, just the 4 of us, which felt souch more personal and definitely far safer. We kayaked around the peninsula and then to an island, where we got out to swim, sun bathed and do a bit of rock pooling. We we're out for about 3 hours all in all Mario is a fantastic guide. We felt completely safe in the trip and he looked after us well, even taking photos of the trip, which he sent us later. He explained how to kayak effectively and sent a lot of time talking about Croatian life. We learned a lot about Cavtat, politics, history, culture and the impact of tourism. He's a really interesting guy with a great sense of humour. It was a fabulous trip and I'd highly recommend it if you are in Cavtat.

We had an amazing experience kayaking with Mario! Due to the choppy weather, we were able to swap our sunset booking to a morning session after a quick WhatsApp chat with Mario, who was really accommodating and made the whole process easy. What a fantastic way to spend our last morning in Cavtat! Mario guided us along the beautiful coastline and into the centre of Cavtat, stopping along the way to share interesting facts and local history about the town. We then paddled over to St Peter’s Island, where we had time to stop for a drink, take in the stunning views, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading back. We were out on the water for several hours and honestly had the best time. It was a real highlight of our trip! We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cavtat. Thank you, Mario!
