Full description
I invite you to join me to see Royal palaces and other iconic royal sites, hear personal stories of my experiences with members of the Royal Family and even get to see a piece of Prince William's and Kate's wedding cake!
We will start at Trafalgar Square and hear about its history and then move on to see the pomp and pageantry of the Changing of the King's Life Guard. We then walk along The Mall to St James' Palace and Clarence House where I will tell you tales of Princes William and Harry the night before William's wedding.
Next is a short walk to Buckingham Palace where you will have more opportunities to take photos and hear stories of the Royal household. We then walk into picturesque St James' Park where there is a chance to pause (kiosk available for drinks) and look at gifts presented to me by members of the Royal family. On the way to Parliament Square I will tell you all about the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben).
The final part of the walk takes us along Whitehall, past Downing Street (home of the Prime Minister) and then to the spot where King Charles 1st was executed. We will finish back at Trafalgar Square.

David
Hi, I'm David, a retired Police Inspector from the London Metropolitan Police. I spent the last 9 years of my service in the Royal Protection Squad serving at Buckingham Palace, St James' Palace and Kensington Palace. I also spent 4 years at Windsor Castle. I have been to Balmoral numerous times accompanying the Royal family on their holidays. I have a History Degree and a diploma in European history which, combined with my Royalty protection career, makes me an ideal guide to lead your tour. I am a born and bred Londoner so can offer advice on other activities whilst you are in London!

David is a great guide and host. Loved the personal stories he had with the Royal family - that’s something unique about his tour. David also shared interesting English anecdotes and places for us to learn (e.g. origins of daylight robbery, blue plaques).

Super interesting and informative tour full of historical and cultural information as well as stories from David's time spent directly with Royals (Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, Prince Harry and their families to name a few). David is extremely knowledgeable and is able to personalize the tour to our interests and level of knowledge. Three hours flew by. We lucked out and saw Princess Anne being driven out in an unmarked black car (we would have had no idea without David). We also felt extra safe with our own top security officer!

I loved so much everything I experienced during this tour, David is a box of surprises, personal stories, history facts that you might not heard before and more, you definetly get the best spot everywhere you go, specially the change of guard, my mother got tired because we already had walked a lot before, but David was comprehensive, so be mindful that you should be prepared for the walk to enjoy it as I did, lovely experience, thank you so much David!!
