About
Richmond Park is London’s largest Royal Park, spanning 2,500 acres of beautiful natural landscape. Known for its herds of wild deer, expansive meadows, ancient woodlands, and stunning views, it’s a serene escape from the city
Insider Tips
Richmond Park is perfect to spend a day out in nature. The park is vast, with expansive meadows and ancient woodlands so be prepared for long walks if you want to explore different areas of the park. Alternatively, the park offers good cycling roads and tracks (the loop around the park is roughly 7 miles)
One of the most exciting features of Richmond Park is its resident deer population. Over 600 red and fallow deer roam freely, making it a rare and magical wildlife encounter in such proximity to central London. Just remember to keep a safe distance! There are some areas where you are more likely to see them in significant numbers. The Flying Field, the Sports Pitches and the areas around the Duchess Wood are particularly popular with deer
