The Drach Caves (or Cuevas del Drach) are a breathtaking network of four interconnected caves featuring dramatic rock formations and one of the largest underground lakes in the world
Insider Tips
The caves are a very popular attraction in Mallorca, so expect the site to be packed with tourists. Visits take place every hour and require advance booking on-site or online (recommended to avoid queuing and waiting for the next available slot)
The tour is self-guided and includes a 10-minute live classical concert performed by musicians on boats at the end of the visit. Some might feel that the experience is quite commercialized and rushed, with large groups walking in lines, making it difficult to hear the guide's explanations. Alternatively, you can visit the Arta Caves near Capdepera which attract less visitors and are also stunning
Did you know?
The Cuevas del Drach have been known since the Middle Ages, with mentions dating back to 1338. The caves were further explored and mapped in the late 19th century by Édouard-Alfred Martel, after whom Lake Martel is named
