Full description
Get ready for a splash of adventure in the heart of Montenegro’s wild beauty. Your day begins at an Ethno Village and Rafting Camp, where you’ll be welcomed and equipped with everything needed for your rafting journey: neoprene suit, helmet, boots, and safety gear.
After a short drive to the starting point at Brstanovica, you’ll receive a full safety briefing and paddling tips from your licensed rafting guide. Then, launch into the Tara River, known as the “Tear of Europe” for its crystal clarity, and navigate its most dynamic 13-kilometer stretch, a mix of class II, III, and IV rapids, depending on the season.
Halfway through, pause for swimming, relaxing, and photo-taking in a scenic section of the river. Continue downstream where the rapids calm, giving you time to soak in the lush landscape and enjoy the peaceful flow to Šćepan Polje.
Back at the village, return your gear and change before sitting down to a traditional Montenegrin lunch, including an appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert, all freshly prepared and served with a view of the Tara River.
A word from your host

Dimitrije
Hi, I’m Dimitrije, rafting guide and licensed instructor. My parents built this place with love, and now I get to lead adrenaline-filled adventures on one of Europe’s most beautiful rivers. I’ve been paddling since I could walk, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than sharing the thrill of Tara’s rapids with guests from around the world. Whether it’s your first time rafting or your fiftieth, I’ll make sure you feel safe, excited, and totally connected to the wild beauty of this place. Let’s hit the water together!

An idyllic setting surrounded by nature, very charming wooden lodges (but the bedding could do with changing), copious and excellent meals, a very interesting rafting experience with a great guide!

Really recommended! The journey is a bit unusual (via the border crossing into Bosnia and then the narrow access road) but absolutely recommended! The hosts are super nice, speak fluent English and make a huge effort! Buddy, the camp beagle, barks to appear like a hard-working guard dog, but is happy to be petted. The food is absolutely top, rich, regional and inexpensive. The rafting guides were there to have fun and made whitewater rafting an unforgettable experience for us. Together with the magnificent natural backdrop, absolutely recommended! The two of us were traveling in a camper van, but there is also the option of renting rooms/cabins.

We knew where we are going and what to expect, we had done proper awsome rafting on Soča river in Slovenia before, but this was just one level higher. The absolute isolation and tranquility of the valley, the location and natural beauty of Grab camp with all the flowers and sorounding woods! Cool and highly profesional stuff before on and after rafting. River Tara is The river, one can drink it, that colour and pure force! I have to mention localy made and fresh food, gorgeous. Our family just loved it, 13 and 15years old kids and mama went crazy. We will be back for two days camp on Tara!

One of the coolest places I have ever stayed. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Rafting trips were well organised, safe and super exciting (we took our 14 and 11 year old kids), with fabulous instructors. Rooms were clean and comfy. The restaurant and bar area literally hangs over the Tara, which is breathtakingly beautiful. Food is delicious and portions are COLOSSAL!!!!
