Begin your private experience at the Sea Gate of Kotor Old Town, where Stefan will greet you and lead you through the charming stone alleys of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about Kotor’s layered history, medieval architecture, maritime legacy, and the cultural stories that shaped the Bay of Kotor.
After this hour-long walking tour, you’ll explore Kotor’s famous marketplace, where Stefan will introduce you to authentic Montenegrin products. Taste olives, local cheeses, prosciutto, and more straight from the vendors.
Then, head to a beloved local spot in the Old Town for a tasting menu of traditional bites. Enjoy smoked ham, cheese, olives, fresh local spreads, and black risotto, along with freshly baked bread and two glasses of wine, beer, or soft drinks. In season (May to September), you’ll also taste mussels in Montenegro’s famous “buzara” sauce.
With Stefan (or one of his colleague) by your side, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, chat about Montenegrin life, and soak up the friendly local atmosphere.

If I could give this tour 100 stars, I would! Marina was absolutely incredible as a guide! She introduced me to the city of Kotor and told me all about the foods I was trying, the landmarks I was seeing, and all sorts of interesting facts about the city. If you're thinking about booking this tour, don't hesitate. You won't regret it!

Alex was very easy going, answered all questions and was very personable. She explained the history of the area and also oriented us on what we could do for remainder of our day. Food tasting started at local market. Tour ended with what I would consider to be a meal, more so than tasting which was a pleasant surprise.

We met our guide for a private tour for just the two of us. I was expecting it to be a small group and initially I felt intimidated as I couldn’t blend in. While our guide didn’t spend a lot of time explaining and touring us around the city, we had a fabulous conversation over a huge and delicious spread of food. We didn’t follow a leader hearing information about buildings, but rather sat down with a local and talked to him about life. He was a very passionate man with many interesting stories and perspectives. What a unique experience. I will remember this more than any regurgitated facts.
