Hi, I’m Ivana! I grew up on the shores of Skadar Lake and know its hidden corners, birds, and backwaters like the back of my hand. I’ll tailor the route based on what you want to see, whether it’s quiet birdwatching, history-rich landmarks, or just time to relax on the water. I love sharing local stories and making sure every guest feels welcome, safe, and connected to this beautiful place. My goal? For you to step off the boat feeling calmer, happier, and a little more in love with nature.

We booked a 2 hour Lake Skadar trip with Wandr and it was fantastic! The lake is stunning - “a must see” in my book. It is so calm and peaceful and there is such a huge range of bird and wildlife. My highlight was seeing kingfishers flying right by the boat. We also got the opportunity to swim in the lake and try water chesnuts straight from the water. Our captain and our guide were both lovely, knowledgeable and very friendly (they were especially particularly great with our kids). Ben was so helpful in planning the trip (discussing length of trip, as we have two young kids, the best time of day to visit etc). Ben was also super helpful generally in terms of advice when travelling into and out of Montenegro by car from Croatia/BIH). Unexpectedly, we had to change which day we went on the trip (due to illness) and Wandr were very understanding, fitting us in the very next day so we didn’t miss the trip. We really appreciated that. I would definitely recommend Wandr for Lake Skadar or any trips in Montenegro

Had an amazing sunrise trip this morning with Ivana and our skipper Dajo. They are both so lovely. We headed out to watch the sunrise then headed towards Kom monastery and managed to spot some birds such as a kingfisher cormorant and heron. We then headed back to stop for a swim. This trip was amazing we were provided with tea coffee and biscuits and Dajo was so good anytime he could see us taking photos he slowed down and his ability to spot birds is amazing. Then there’s Ivana who is so lovely her knowledge and passion for what she does and her village is incredible. She is so friendly and we had debated having a tour guide but so glad we did as you wouldn’t get the knowledge of the lake or the monastery and the birds elsewhere. The experience of having your own traditional private boat with a trip catered to what you want to do is amazing and far beats being crammed on a boat with lots of people. I’d highly recommend the golden frog for a skadar lake tour!

We had an absolutely incredible trip out yesterday with three hours on the lake riding out into the sunset. I was lucky enough to see a kingfisher for the very first time, we learnt some history and we got to swim too 😊😊😊 Ivana and our captain were amazing and really looked after us. I can’t recommend them highly enough. This is definitely who you need to book a trip out with.

Unreal experience. I highly recommend taking the earliest boat possible and you will have the lake for yourself. Our captain and guide were explendid. Really happy with this experience.
