Join a unique lake adventure, starting from the charming village of Vranjina, where you’ll board a traditional Montenegrin wooden fishing boat. I will share fascinating insights about Skadar Lake’s wildlife, fishing culture, and hidden natural wonders.
As you drift across the tranquil waters, you’ll pass through scenic river channels, reed-filled wetlands, and untouched fishing trails, places only accessible by a boat like this. Along the way, we’ll stop at remote lake beaches where you can swim, sunbathe, or simply soak in the beauty of nature.
The tour also includes visits to islands and historic landmarks, including Lesendro Fortress and the river mouth where the lake meets the freshwater streams. Along the journey, you’ll encounter water lilies, giant willows, rare bird species, and other unique flora and fauna.
For those who want to experience local fishing, fishing rods are available onboard. If requested, I can offer a wild fish dinner at the end of the tour in my home, with freshly caught lake fish, traditional sides, and local drinks (extra 15€ /person paid on site, request is available at checkout).

Dražen
I am Dražen and I am hosting this experience for years, together with my parents – mom Sofia (she is a great cook) and dad Dragan (experienced fisherman and skipper). I grew up in Vranjina village in grandfathers old house. We use traditional fishing boat for fishing and I came to an idea to do lake trips on it because it is unique and reminds me on gondolas in Venice. Also, nickname for my village is “Little Venice” 😊 We will give our best to show you warm welcome and hospitality that people from Montenegro are known for, lake beauties and village cuisine.

Very good experience! We enjoyed every second of our boatride and had a fresh fish meal cooked by the family. Drazen was a great host with excellent communication. His father was our skipper. The opportunity to experience life in the countryside of Montenegro was made perfect with this trip. Very authentic. The scenery was just beautiful. We were very looked after and felt welcomed the whole time.

A boat trip on Lake Skadar with a local fisherman Drazen was an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, our guide was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at ease right away. His knowledge of the lake, its wildlife, and the surrounding landscape was impressive, and he shared interesting facts throughout the trip. The boat itself was a traditional fishing vessel, adding a unique charm to the tour. We slowly drifted through the calm waters, surrounded by stunning views of mountains and nature. What made the trip truly special was the personal touch Drazen added. He was always ready to help with anything we needed and made sure we were comfortable. His passion for the area was evident, and he communicated this with enthusiasm in clear and fluent English. Overall, this boat tour was not only a peaceful and scenic way to explore Lake Skadar but also a chance to connect with a local who genuinely cared about his home and its traditions. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and enriching experience.

If I could give this 1,000,000 stars, I would. Communication with Drazen was brilliant, he even booked us in short notice. Our skipper was his dad Dragan who was the loveliest person, the trip was amazing from beginning to end and his lovely mum Sofia made us feel so welcome. Thank you for everything! I would recommend everyone book this trip!

We enjoyed this tour a lot! The landscape is breathtaking and Drazen is super kind. He told us about the wildlife in and on the lake, as well as a few historical facts. The wind, the little waves and the sounds of nature are very relaxing as you glide over the water. We also had some really fun company and time to take nice pictures, which made the experience even more memorable :) It took us a little while to get there since we stayed near Tivat but it was definitely worth the trip - we can recommend this tour anytime! :)

We went on a private traditional boat trip to finish our holiday in Montenegro. I can not recommend highly enough. The communication was excellent and it really felt like the whole trip was based around making it best for us. When we arrived we were welcomed by local drinks and allowed to use the house to get changed. The trip itself was incredible with stunning views and the opportunity to swim from a private natural beach. If you are looking to see Lake Skadar then this is 100% the best options.
