Tucked just outside the Sea Gate at the entrance to Kotor’s Old Town, the local food market is a lively, open-air space where local vendors sell seasonal produce, cheeses, cured meats, olives, rakija, and handmade goods.
Insider Tips
You’ll find excellent local cheese (like Njeguški sir), prosciutto (pršut), homemade honey, olive oil, and rakija (fruit brandy). Many stalls sell nicely packaged dried fruit, herbs, or mini rakija bottles, perfect for souvenirs
Look out for the stalls run by older women selling home-grown or homemade items, these are usually the most authentic and best quality
Did you know?
The market has operated in some form for centuries, serving as a vital hub for farmers and fishermen from nearby villages in the Bay of Kotor. Some families have been selling their products here for generations.
