About
The St Tryphon Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Kotor, built in honor of Saint Tryphon, the patron and protector of the city
Did you know?
The cathedral's namesake, St. Tryphon, was a 3rd-century martyr from modern-day Turkey. Legend says his relics were being shipped to Venice in 809 AD, but a storm forced the ship to seek refuge in Kotor; the locals took this as a divine sign that the Saint wanted to stay, so they bought the relics and have kept them there for over 1,200 years.
