Virpazar
About
Virpazar is a small village serving as the main gateway to Lake Skadar National Park and is the starting point of many boat excursions
Insider Tips
Virpazar is a small yet bustling fishing village in summer, offering the best selection of places to eat and stay around the lake. It is also the primary hub for boat tour companies operating on the lake and offering a couple of different routes. A short route takes you from Virpazar to Grmozur Prison Island, then to the Saint Nicholas Monastery, and back (2.5h) while longer tours often include one of the island monasteries, such as Kom, and take up to 4h
The surrounding region offers many activities such as hiking & biking tours, kayaking or wine tasting (Undiscovered Montenegro is a recommended provider and specializes in eco-tourism). You can also go swimming on the quiet Pješačac or Murići beaches
