Discover the rich olive oil heritage of Montenegro on a guided visit to a working olive mill near Kotor. Your experience begins with a warm welcome from Zoran, your host and the third generation of his family to run the mill. He’ll greet you with a glass of rakiya, a traditional Montenegrin brandy, before leading you on a tour through the old and new parts of the estate.
Learn about the evolution of olive oil production,, from century-old stone presses to today’s stainless steel techniques—and hear stories of how the family has passed down their craft for generations. Zoran explains what makes different olive oils unique, how to taste them properly, and what to look for in quality oil.
You’ll watch a short 15min film about the oil-making process (or witness the equipment at work during olive season in October/November), then enjoy a delicious tasting. Sample several of the estate’s finest olive oils, served with prosciutto, local cheeses, fresh olives, and a glass of wine. It’s a flavor-packed way to connect with Montenegro’s agricultural roots and culinary culture.
After the tasting, you can browse the small shop with olive oils, local spirits, and soaps.

Hi, I’m Zoran, your guide and host at our family-run olive mill. I’m the third generation to work this land and continue our passion for olive oil making. I love welcoming guests and sharing the story of how our family built everything you’ll see today: stone by stone, tree by tree. My favorite part of this experience is teaching people how to taste olive oil like a pro, and seeing the surprise on their face when they try the real thing 😊

A visit to this old olive oil producer is a must if you are staying in the Kotor region. The owner speaks with great love about the processes then and now. There is time to taste and ask everything you have always wanted to know about the process.

We went there with our children (ages 5 and 2) to learn about olive oil production. The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. The explanations ended with a tasting of his own olive oil. You can also buy his oil. I highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed this olive oil experience - it was very chill and relaxing. We learned a lot about the history of the family run mill, the process and how to determine what “good” olive oil is. We did the snack option which totally worked for our lunch - Zoran had picked out the best local prosciutto and cheese, which were super fun to try out!

A really interesting explanation of how olive oil is made. We learned a lot and were able to taste and buy the oil at the end. Zoran was very nice and answered all our questions. Thank you so much!
