Full description
Discover the rich olive oil heritage of Montenegro on a guided visit to a working olive mill near Kotor. Your experience begins with a warm welcome from Zoran, your host and the third generation of his family to run the mill. He’ll greet you with a glass of rakiya, a traditional Montenegrin brandy, before leading you on a tour through the old and new parts of the estate.
Learn about the evolution of olive oil production,, from century-old stone presses to today’s stainless steel techniques—and hear stories of how the family has passed down their craft for generations. Zoran explains what makes different olive oils unique, how to taste them properly, and what to look for in quality oil.
You’ll watch a short 15min film about the oil-making process (or witness the equipment at work during olive season in October/November), then enjoy a delicious tasting. Sample several of the estate’s finest olive oils, served with prosciutto, local cheeses, fresh olives, and a glass of wine. It’s a flavor-packed way to connect with Montenegro’s agricultural roots and culinary culture.
After the tasting, you can browse the small shop with olive oils, local spirits, and soaps.

Hi, I’m Zoran, your guide and host at our family-run olive mill. I’m the third generation to work this land and continue our passion for olive oil making. I love welcoming guests and sharing the story of how our family built everything you’ll see today: stone by stone, tree by tree. My favorite part of this experience is teaching people how to taste olive oil like a pro, and seeing the surprise on their face when they try the real thing 😊

Wonderful experience! Zoran was a great host and taught us all about how they make olive oil - both with the old and new equipment. We thought the lunch spread would just be a snack but there was so much food and it was absolutely delicious! We tried great olive oil with fluffy bread, 3 types of olives, and he even supplemented the meat and cheese spread with some well-prepared veggies since one of us is vegetarian. We definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the Kotor area!

I truly recommend visiting Old Mlin Celanovica,it’s one of those places that stays in your heart.😊Everything is so authentic and beautifully preserved. You can really feel the history here. What made the experience even more special was the hostzsuch a kind and welcoming person. You can see he genuinely loves sharing this place and its story with others. He made me feel at home right away and took time to explain how olive oil was made in the past. It’s a quiet, peaceful place surrounded by nature, perfect if you want to slow down and feel connected to something real and traditional.A peaceful place full of history Old Mlin Celanovica

Amazing host, who is 3rd gen olive mill family. My group had a nice experience learning about the historic and traditional machinery for pressing olives to oil, complete with tour and light lunch. Olive oil and products can be purchased on site, but these are not the main attraction. Apart from the mill itself, there are no other things to see on site. Host was great, explanation/tour were good, olive oil products so-so.

Great experience to speak with a local who's family has been making olive oil for many years. I think what's unique is seeing the old fashion way of making olive oil and how his family built everything. a big bonus was his cat Olivia and taste testing! we left with a nice bottle of olive oil to take home! I think the only time you can see olive oil actively being made is in late fall when olives are typically harvested though!

It's an interesting historical site which is represented by an century old mill with original equipment alongside with a new equipment for producing local olive oil. The owner is a very friendly person, who definitely enjoys telling the story of the place and his ancestors, who owned it before him. Besides excursion the owner provides degustation of olive oil that he produces. Moreover there's a tiny shop with olive oil, candles, soap, spirits. We were pleased to visit this authentic place.
