Full description
Experience Montenegrin wine culture through the eyes of a sixth-generation winemaker on this intimate visit to a winery nestled in the rolling hills above Virpazar. This family vineyard has been lovingly cultivated since the late 19th century and now blends deep-rooted tradition with sustainable practices to produce wines with soul.
Your experience begins with a guided walk through the vineyards, where you’ll learn how the family hand-harvests grapes and lets fermentation happen naturally, without the use of commercial yeast.
Next, descend into the authentic stone wine cellar, where temperatures stay cool and aromas deepen with age. Here, you’ll enjoy a tasting of four wines: a crisp white, a vibrant rosé, and two bold reds made from the local Vranac grape, affectionately known as the “Black Stallion.” A glass of homemade rakia wraps up your tasting.
Each wine is paired with a tasting board of local cheeses, prosciutto, and other charcuterie items sourced from regional producers. Expect lively conversation and the warm hospitality that defines Montenegrin culture.
This experience is ideal for curious travelers, wine lovers, and anyone seeking an authentic connection to local traditions in one of Montenegro’s most scenic regions.
A word from your host

Nemanja
Hi, I’m Nemanja, and I’m proud to carry on my family’s winemaking tradition as the sixth generation in our vineyard. I learned everything from my grandfather, who’s now 85 and still full of stories. Our family has been making wine here since the late 1800s, and I love sharing not only our wines, but also our history, land, and way of life. I will make sure you leave happy, a little buzzed, and with a new love for Montenegrin wine 🍷
