About
Black Lake, or Crno Jezero, is the most renowned of the 18 glacial lakes scattered throughout Durmitor National Park and one of Montenegro’s top natural attractions
Insider Tips
The lake is actually made up of 2 bodies of water, Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Little Lake) which are connected by a narrow strait that often dries up during summer. Row boats are available for hire in summer to explore the lake from a different perspective, and the lake is suitable for swimming in the summer months
There's a €5 entrance fee for entering Durmitor National Park, which includes access to the Black Lake. It is easily accessible from the town of Žabljak, which is about 3 km away. You can reach the lake by car, bicycle, or a pleasant walk from Žabljak
